Hillside Announcements
UConn Students interested in learning more about VC, introductory topics, and how to deal source can register for the course Introduction to Venture Capital. The course can be found in the student administration system as MGMT 4895 - Section 001 and will take place on MW from 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM ( Remote Learning )
Hillside Ventures is proud to welcome the incoming Fall 2021 class. These students have shown exemplary academic performances, stellar leadership qualities, and a passion for learning about venture capital. We are excited to work alongside these analysts, contributing to the growth of the entrepreneurial space at UCONN. Our new analysts will have the opportunity to connect with various startup founders, conduct industry research, and help source deals. We asked the new analysts to provide three fun facts and something they hope to learn from Hillside, check them out below !!!!!!
Akira Dunham
Bio:
Akira Dunham recently graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in the honors program at UConn and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Transportation & Urban Engineering. He is extremely passionate and excited about urban mobility, public transportation, sustainable infrastructure, and smart city technologies. He has spent time working with a multinational engineering firm, AECOM, as a part of the transportation planning team and has experience as a research analyst at Connecticut Innovations. Akira is inspired by making cities and urban environments more livable, equitable, and sustainable for all. In his free time, Akira loves to spend time outdoors hiking and skiing, as well as supporting his favorite hockey team the New York Rangers.
Fun Facts:
1. My favorite sport is hockey (Let’s go Rangers)
2. I love geography and city maps
3. I used to work as a hiking guide in the Adirondack Mountains
What I hope to learn from Hillside:
I hope to learn a lot about deal structuring and to find modern strategies on how to analyze new startups/ideas from this coming year with Hillside. Strengthening my fundamental understanding of venture capitalism through an experience such as this is something that I’m looking forward to greatly

Prabhas KC
Bio:
Prabhas KC is a senior studying Economics and Analytics. He is involved throughout campus as the Director of Training with the UConn Consulting Group, a member of the Leadership Legacy Experience, and an Innovate Wellness intern. Prabhas' first internship was with a start-up focused on assisting aspiring doctors by simplifying the admissions process. Since then, he has been a digital marketing intern with UConn Extension and The Hartford.
Fun Facts:
1. My last name is just two letters
2. I'm a big Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, and Labi Siffre fan
3. I'm the first US-born in my entire family
What I hope to learn from Hillside:
I am excited to get as much hands-on experience in this space as possible, build my connections, and learn how to develop a VC mindset!

Ish Panwar
Bio:
Ish Panwar is a junior finance major at the University of Connecticut School of Business. Outside of academic commitments, Ish is serving as the Managing Director of the UConn Consulting Group and participates on the Fed Challenge team. This summer, she had a summer internship at G Squared where she worked primarily in Mobility 2.0, SaaS, and insurtech areas.

1. I’m left-handed
2. I was born in India
3. My favorite color is blue
What I hope to learn from Hillside:
I'm looking forward to learning more about the sourcing and diligence process, and to apply all I've learned during my summer internship towards my role as an Analyst on the team.

Nick Willett
Bio:
Nick Willett is a senior Honors accounting major and data analytics minor at the University of Connecticut Storrs campus. Nick is passionate about the intersection of business and emerging technology and brings experience from roles at companies of all sizes. Currently, Nick works at a startup called Mosaic.tech, where he is helping to transform financial decision-making.
Fun Facts:
1. I am a licensed EMT
2. My favorite hobbies include hiking, running, and cooking
3. My favorite UConn ice cream is Husky Tracks
What I hope to learn from Hillside: I hope to become more proficient in business valuation, dealmaking, and strategy. I also want to broaden my awareness of UConn's entrepreneurial activity and understand how to cultivate it further.

Yvonne Zhou
Bio:
Yvonne is a senior Finance major with an Analytics minor at UConn School of Business. Yvonne seeks to gain more exposure to different industries and alumnae, as well as new working content such as due diligence, in-depth interviews, and industry research. Yvonne has been actively involved on campus and enjoys photography on weekends.
Fun Facts:
1. The longest travel delay I experienced was 17hrs from Beijing to JFK
2. My favorite quote from The Avengers is "Love you 3000"
3. The most exciting thing I did during Covid was experiencing a 30-minute helicopter tour above New York City
What I hope to learn from Hillside: VC is indeed an industry full of fun and freshness. It stems from constant exposure to different industries and fields. I wish to gain a unique life experience that expands my cognitive boundaries and improves my thinking ability while keeping me curious about the people and things around me.
